#11 (death valley dunes), archival inkjet print, 11 x 15" (min. paper dimensions 16 x 19")
the next day had pretty much nothing to offer. alot of driveing just to get me in
postion to do death valley. the only thing of real note was my air filter was in
bad shape. i pulled over and took it out slammed it onto the road about 3 tablespoons
of sand came out.not good.
DEATH VALLEY
lowest(dry) place in the US. when i visited it was only a mild 110 f degrees. besides
the heat the first thing that hit me was how quiet it was. no bugs (except some flies)
no birds no nothing. it was the kind of quiet that made your ears ring.
we start our climb out... we got some dunes at just the right light...
i climbed up to a campsite about 3000 feet above sea level. a pretty pleasent nite. a
couple of coyote cubs came into the camp and i almost got a picture of them. a couple
of late nite campers pulled in and scared them off though.
